The European Society of Radiology (ESR) is proud to announce the launch of three new peer-reviewed journals aimed at advancing academic practice and research excellence in five subspecialised fields of radiology. In collaboration with the leading European subspecialty societies, the ESR expands its Journal portfolio comprising European Radiology, Insights into Imaging, and European Radiology Experimental by adding three exciting journals that focus on highly topical and relevant areas of radiological practice, addressing an unmet need in the European landscape for dedicated journals within these fields. The new journals are: European Radiology Abdomen, in collaboration with European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR) and European Society of Urogenital Radiology (ESUR). The Editor-in-Chief is Valérie Vilgrain (Paris, France). European Radiology Breast, in collaboration with European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI). The Editor-in-Chief is Sophia Zackrisson (Malmö, Sweden). European Radiology Cardiovascular and Thoracic, in collaboration with European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology (ESCR) and European Society of Thoracic Imaging (ESTI). The Editor-in-Chief is Hatem Alkadhi (Zurich, Switzerland). The new journals will provide a platform for academics, researchers, and professionals to share cutting-edge findings, engage in critical dialogue, and contribute to the global body of knowledge in these specialised fields. The new journals will start welcoming submissions in March 2026 and will be published as Gold Open Access journals by our long-standing publishing partner Springer. More information about the journals’ scopes, editorial teams, and submission guidelines will follow soon in separate press releases. In the meantime, more information about the journals can be found in the recently published Editorial in European Radiology here Media ContactEuropean Society of RadiologyDavid Zizka+43 153 340 645 [email protected]
