Young professionals will enjoy a comprehensive programme at the European Congress of Radiology 2023 aimed at offering education and advice to attendees who have recently entered the world of medical imaging. Trainees in Focus will also enjoy its own dedicated area in the congress center where students, residents and trainees can meet and relax.
The Trainees in Focus programme will offer professional and personal insights into topics and issues that affect young radiologists and radiographers in their educational and working environments. Residents, students, mentors, mentees and experts in the field will share their views on these issues and many others in this series of interactive sessions, which will give younger participants an open platform to discuss the topics most important to them.
Six sessions have already been designed with additional sessions and activities currently in the works. Topics range from mentoring in radiology and the key ingredients for success in organising a multidisciplinary meeting, right through to digital educational tools for trainees and how to reduce reporting errors. The preliminary programme can be viewed here.
To host this series of sessions, the congress center will have a dedicated and uniquely designed Trainees in Focus area. In this hub, young radiologists will be able to meet and socialise, play games and enjoy refreshments.
Trainees in Focus is a continuation of a growing series of programmes dedicated to specific groups in the healthcare continuum. Previous programmes have been dedicated to women, children and patients and offer a unique stage to share controversial opinions and daring insights through a programme which always encourages interactivity amongst participants.
Trainees in Focus was envisioned by ECR 2023 Congress President Prof. Adrian Brady (IE) and has been coordinated by Prof. Minerva Becker (CH) and Prof. Martin Reim (EE). It will take place from Thursday, March 2 – Saturday, March 4.
